What is it?
A classic Hare and Hound type of run.
How far do you run?
3-4 miles on average with as many beer/water breaks as we can get. If we didn’t run it would just be a drinking club!
I hate running!
So do most of us. It’s not about running, we also have walker’s trails. Most of the run is short runs while you find trail or simply stop for a drink (beer or water) It's about getting fun people together.
Who can join?
Anyone and everyone over 21. Just remember alcohol is involved. Act responsibly please.
History
The Hash House Harriers received its humble beginnings in 1938 from a Britisher named Albert Stephen Ignatius Gispert, in what is now Malaysia.
Having a fondness for the “paper chase”, he gathered together several expatriates to from a group in Kuala Lumpur that would later become a world-wide legacy.
The fraternity received its name from the Selangor Club Chambers, which due to it’s lackluster food was commonly referred to as the ‘Hash House’.
There are currently almost 1,500 hashes, including groups in almost every major city in the world. The World Hash House Harriers Database is maintained by Global Trash, the world hash publisher.
The Run
A different hare sets a trail with flour at a different spot in the area each run. We combine road and trail running. We all try to "run" together as a group, so no one has to run alone.
The location is announced on this site and on the email.
The Cloths
Almost anything you want (make sure it is legal and somewhat appropriate). Do not wear new shoes. New running shoes become new beer mugs at the end of the run.
The Circle
The GM (Grand Master) runs the circle where all breakers of the traditions are called in to drink a down-down (cup of beer) as someone in the circle might sing a silly song.
Food
When possible, we have a cook-out together at the end or head to an “on after” restaurant to enjoy a meal together.
DRINKING & DRIVING
Don’t Do It. It’s not Cool. Have a designated driver please.
